2020 Maison Foucher Vouvray La Vigne des Sablons
France / Loire / Touraine / Vouvray Blanc Demi-Sec
La Vigne des Sablons from Maison Foucher is a Loire wine from Touraine.
The Vouvray appellation covers 2,000 hectares. Les Sablons is a six hectares islet located in the commune of Chancay on a hillside facing west.
A temperate climate at the edge of confluent valleys warm up quickly the soils under the oceanic influence that penetrates to the heart of the vineyard.
Sunny autumns encourage over-maturity and even noble rot. The production of semi-dry – or more precisely Sec tendre – soft, or sweet wines depends on climatic variability: the vintage effect is decisive.
Grape variety:
100% Chenin Blanc.
No wood is used in the winemaking process.
Maturation in stainless steel tanks.
Vouvray is the most famous and most respected appellation of the Loire Valley's Touraine growing region. The title covers white Chenin Blanc wines of various styles (sweet wine, dry, still, and sparkling), from eight villages around the medieval town of Vouvray, on the northern banks of the Loire river.
