France / Bordeaux / Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Rouge

In the mid-1990s, a very small parcel belonging to Château La Dominique was not included in the Saint-Émilion classification. The owner of the estate, Clément Fayat, was far from pleased with this development and decided to take matters into his own hands. He collaborated with Jean Luc Thunevin to create a refined cuvée that would showcase the potential of the parcel.

Saint Domingue Grand Cru first emerged in 1998 and were only bottled as a standalone cuvée for four vintages:
1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001.

The 100% Merlot-based Saint Domingue Grand Cru boasts a sensuous, soft, and creamy texture, with aromas of ripe black cherries, crème de cassis, vanilla, chocolate, and espresso.
The oak notes are perfectly integrated into the flavor, while the vibrant aromas dance alongside the wine's luscious, full-bodied, and intense silky tannins, supported by a subtly discreet acidity.
The finish is concentrated, bordering on muscular, emphasizing that this cuvée has truly thrived over the years, transforming into a beautiful white swan despite the declassification of the parcel by the INAO (Institut National de l'Origine et de la Qualité).
