France / Bordeaux / Medoc / Haut-Medoc / Saint-Julien 3. Cru Rouge

2016 Château Lagrange 3. Cru is dark and deep with purple tint. Blackcherry, blackcurrant, liquorice, and black pepper on the nose.
Fullbodied, freshness with menthol, round, powerful, and long finish.
Enjoyable already, this exceptional 2016 is able to age a long time due to its silky tannins.
A great and well balanced 2016 Lagrange: Nice harmony with classicism and modernity.

The Wine Cellar Insider/Jeff Leve tasting notes 94/100 (2019): "This just keeps getting better and better. Now you find flowers, tobacco, earth, herbs, and layers of ripe, sweet, juicy, lively red fruits. There is concentration and depth of flavor, this is without doubt, the best wine ever produced here. This will age for decades with ease".

Blend:
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot.

Average age of the vine:
42 years.

Completely situated in the village of Saint-Julien, the vineyard of Château Lagrange represents 118 hectares in red vines, spread over two hills with the slopes directed towards the North and the South, in one block. The subsoil is of clay and limestone and the topsoil is of pebbles and gravel. The climate is temperate and oceanic.

There are three Bordeaux Château called Lagrange – this one in Saint-Julien, one in Graves, and the third in Pomerol.
