2017 Chateau Nenin
France / Bordeaux / Pomerol Rouge
In the Château Nénin 2017 vintage, the Merlots on the part of the Pomerol plateau that is mainly clayey offer unctuosity and structure, whereas the Merlots on the gravelly-sandy terroirs bring the finesse and roundness. As for the Cabernet Francs, they are once again decisive on these same great terroirs, bringing a pleasant balance to the first wine blend, marrying power, elegance and complexity.
James Suckling tasting notes 93-94/100 (April 2018): "A creamy wine with a solid core of fruit and firm and silky tannins. Lots mineral and crushed-stone character. Fullbodied, rich and structured. Orange rind on the afte1taste. Less than 50% of the normal production. Solid finish".
Blend:
58% Merlot, 42% Cabernet Franc.
