Taking its name from the D8 road to Chaux – a small village higher up on the slopes of the Côte d'Or – that forms its major boundaries just outside of Nuits-Saint-Georges.

Rue de Chaux is a small 2.1 hectare 1er Cru vineyard, planted to Pinot Noir, bordering western Nuits-Saint-Georges town in the Côte de Nuits subregion of Burgundy's Côte d'Or heartland.

The wines from this part of Nuits-Saint-Georges are not especially reputed, but the terroir here is still of high enough quality to be classified as 1er Cru – at least in part.

Rue de Chaux Premier Cru wines tend to be relatively full bodied with black fruit notes.
