Bourgogne Blanc is predominantly based around the regional flagship variety, Chardonnay.
 
Bourgogne Blanc wine can be made from grapes grown in any one (or more) of 300 communes from the Yonne (and the vineyards around Chablis) in the north to the southern Mâconnais.

Created in 1937, the broad Bourgogne title covers those Burgundy wines produced in areas not covered by more location-specific appellations.
