Jean-Pierre Cournut unequivocally called 2022 "a great vintage". It is more precise than 2020 and more readable as well in terms of the underlying terroir.
Burghound.com/Allen Meadows tasting notes (June 2024): "Here there is just enough reduction to blur the nuances of the floral and citrus confit-scented nose. On the palate though there is excellent freshness and underlying tension to the caressing, round and utterly delicious larger-bodied flavors that display lovely fruit-acid balanced on the citrusy, youthfully austere, and lingering finale. lt's not often that I describe any Morgeot as 'stylish' but this lovely effort qualifies. 2030+".
Vigne Blanche is a small Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru designation in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy. It lies within the grounds of Morgeot Abbey and is one of a numer of properties which form part of the larger Morgeot 1er Cru.
Consequently, its wines may also be labeled with the Morgeot name. This seems to be the option taken by most producers and labels featuring the Vigne Blanche name are rarely seen. As the name suggests, the 2.2ha site is generally best-suited to the production of white wines, predominantly from Chardonnay.
