Château Leoville Barton

Château Léoville Barton (2nd Growth) is situated in Saint Julien. The estate's nearly 200-year history in Bordeaux, along with the Barton family's deep passion for wine, is beautifully reflected in the elegance, finesse, and consistency of their wines.
In 1826, Hugh Barton acquired a quarter of the original Léoville estate, which had been confiscated and divided following the French Revolution.
He renamed the property Léoville Barton to differentiate it from the original Léoville estate.
Today, Lilian Barton-Sartorius, the 9th generation, maintains and enhances Château Léoville Barton's international reputation.
The 47 hectares are planted with 74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc, producing approximately 200,000 bottles annually of the 1st wine, Château Léoville Barton 2nd Growth, and the 2nd wine, La Réserve de Léoville Barton.
The wines exhibit a classic Saint Julien expression of cedarwood and are embellished with a perfect balance between fullness and elegance, youthful freshness, and complexity from barrel aging. The wines are ideally left in the bottle for four to six years before serving, and after 10-12 years, they truly shine. Depending on the vintage and conditions, they can be aged for up to 25-30 years. Decanting is recommended for two to three hours for younger vintages and immediate serving after decanting for older vintages (+12 years).
