Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux

When you drive out of Nuits-Saint-Georges and continue westward on the main road, you soon pass through what might seem like a somewhat dreary area of small industry, especially to a wine romantic. It is here that Domaine Chevillon-Chezeaux is located, and the cheerful Philippe warmly welcomes visitors.

 

Philippes father-in-law, Michel Chevillon, is the 4th generation in a family enterprise that cultivates some of the beautiful lands around the town. Philippe Chezeaux has now joined as the 5th generation, which explains the double name of the domaine.

Down in the cellar, spirits are high. Conditions are perfect, and Philippe is not only a positive person but also highly skilled in the farm-to-table process for his wines.

Wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges are marked by their dark and masculine character, and although one might initially hesitate due to the domaine's location, reason quickly overrides emotions, confirming the wines' origin emphatically. Philippe manages to create wines that stay true to the region's classic expression, infusing them with a thread of elegance that makes them exceptionally enjoyable to drink.
