2012 Château Coutet 1. Cru.Expert tasting note: "Pale gold colour, plenty of legs. Vivid pineapple aromas with honey. Sweet, fresh and mid-weight, perhaps a little thin. Principal flavour is runny-honey. Alcohol is balanced. Finish is slightly cloying".

Château Coutet is a Premier Cru Sauternes producer located in the Barsac region of Bordeaux. It is one of the oldest producers in Sauternes, and has the longest cellar in the region, at 110 meters. Coutet is the Gascon word for knife, signifying the dessert wine's crisp and ripping acidity.
Château Coutet (1st Growth) is one of the greatest estates, and according to Robert Parker, the only one that can be compared to Château d'Yquem.
