France / Bordeaux / Medoc / Haut-Medoc / Saint-Julien 4. Cru Rouge
2016 Château Talbot 4. Cru.
Expert tasting notes: "Deep and darkly pigmented ruby-red, though not opaque. Ripe cassis fruit on the nose marries with lifted leafy/menthol charachter and toasy/cedary oak notes. The initial fresh cassis on the palate is lifted by fresh acidity. Riper red-plum notes show emerge on the mid-palate leading to a liquorice core. Tannins are velvety and the mid-palate is rounded and medium to full bodied. Alcohol is warming and the finish is long, showing grainy fine tannins and good grip at the end".
Blend:
55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot.

Legend relates that the name of this imposing estate originates with Connétable Talbot, a famous English warrior, defeated at the battle of Castillon 1453. Talbot is one of the Medoc’s oldest estates, its glory never tainted. Through the years it has been fortunate enough to remain in good hands. The Bignon-Cordier family manages this Saint-Julien 4th Grand Cru Classé estate.
